What It Is

There are three ways to create a Stokkd account:

  • Email — enter your email, confirm it via a link, then set a password and company name.
  • Google or Microsoft — sign in with your existing provider account. No separate password.
  • Shopify — connect your Shopify store. No separate password, and your company details,
integration, and locations are imported automatically.

All three prove your identity before any account exists — no half-created accounts are left
behind if a signup is abandoned partway through.

signup paths side by side, each ending at the onboarding step it lands on.

Comparison

Path What you provide upfront Password required What's imported automatically Where you land
Email Email, then name + password + company name Yes Nothing Company Details (Onboarding step 2)
Google / Microsoft Your existing Google or Microsoft account No Your name and email from the provider Company Details (Onboarding step 2)
Shopify Your Shopify store No Company details, Shopify integration connection, store locations (as sites) Review Locations (skips Company Details & the Manual/API choice entirely)

How to Choose

  • Already run your business on Shopify? Choose Shopify — it's the fastest path and sets up
your integration at the same time.
  • Your team already uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365? Choose Google or Microsoft for a
    quick, passwordless signup.
  • Otherwise, use Email.

Key Things to Know

Your signup method is separate from the integration choice later in onboarding — only
Shopify signup bundles the two together. Every other path (including Google or Microsoft) still
goes through the Manual/API choice in onboarding, and any company can connect an API integration
later regardless of how it signed up. See
Choose an Integration for what happens next after Email or
Google/Microsoft signup.

Best Practices

  • Pick based on how your business actually operates today, not what seems fastest in isolation —
Shopify signup only makes sense if you genuinely run your store on Shopify.
  • If you're not sure which provider your team uses for sign-in, check with a colleague before
starting — switching signup methods isn't possible once an account exists.
